Yippee!!
It is no longer the spring-like conditions here; last night, it started snowing, and it hasn't melted, hasn't stopped. The weather had been so mild the last few weeks. Spring, in January. The grass was still green too, because it had only been under snow for about 3/4 weeks. So now it snows again, and the city looks beautiful again.

Nova Rodina-New Family
I moved host families two weekends ago, and don't have as much access to a computer now. I will try to upload some photos in a couple days.
Anyway, things here are ok. I am still getting up at six each morning, and making it to school on time. Anyone who knows me well, can imagine what a feat this is for me! In my new family I now have 2 brothers, and I live in a flat. It's certainly a change, but I like it. I am also closer to the city now, so I can take the tram. It is definitely more flexible! But I do miss my first family. They really helped me adjust to different lifestyles here.
I am still working on the Slovak language, but I seem to have plateaued; my comprehension hasn't really gone up for a while. However, I started reading Harry Potter 4, to try to improve.

Ježisko-Jesus, Slovakia's Santa
Here, and in most of Europe, presents are opened on the eve of the 24th. Jesus comes and delivers the presents under the tree. My sister Miska and I distributed the gifts, like in-home Ježiskos.

Vianoce-Christmas
I knew Christmas would be really different than how we normally celebrate in Canada, and I wasn't let down! On Dec. 24, Michal, Darina and I decorated the Christmas tree. Then we started preparing for the dinner. The family living in Bratislava came over for dinner, which was a really big affair. Darina was cooking from the morning until the evening, and I was doing what I could to help. We made Kapusnica(cabbage soup) and fish soup for starters, and then a lot of time was spent gutting the giant carp and preparing it. First, it is dipped in flour and eggs(like schnitzel), and then it is deepfried. There were many different salads, and most of them were like a potato/mayonaise base. We finished off the meal with little cookies and nuts.
Pardon the late update; again
Sorry again, this update is coming really late. Things have actually been quite busy here lately, but I will try to do a satisfactory review.
